Installation Guidelines for SecondAir™ Beadlocks

To ensure seamless integration and optimal performance, adhere to the following mounting instructions:

Preparation:

• Begin by drilling an additional 8mm (5/16th) hole in the rim, positioned between 150-200mm from the original valve hole. Aim to drill the hole in a flat area of the wheel rim, avoiding tight radius curves.
• Ensure the drilled hole is smooth and free of any burrs.
• Clean the rim’s sealing edges thoroughly with a wire brush to remove dirt, debris, and flaking paint. Inspect the tire’s inner and outer bead areas for any foreign objects that may impede the tube or tire bead sealing process.

Mounting Instructions:

• Install the special valve into the original valve hole, ensuring the slot is parallel to the rim edge and securely tighten.
• Begin mounting the inner tyre bead onto the wheel rim.
• Apply the provided powder to the tube and the interior of the SecondAir™ casing.
• Mount the inner side of the SecondAir™, ensuring the side with the two black tabs (air channel) faces outward. Avoid using tire levers and position the tabs near the special valve.
• Insert the tube inside the SecondAir™ casing through the newly drilled hole and secure it with the brass nut.
• Fit the outer bead of the SecondAir™ casing over the rim, ensuring the two black tabs are positioned on either side of the special valve. Fold the tabs and fabric flap inward under the bead of the casing between the rim and the tube to ensure a secure fit.
• Tighten the brass nut of the tube valve, ensuring the O-ring is centred and covered by the concave washer. If the O-ring is displaced during tightening, readjust the valve and retighten.
• Inflate the tube to approximately 2psi (14 kpa) to verify the proper positioning of the SecondAir™ casing and tube within the tyre.
• Deflate the tube and mount the remaining tyre bead. For rims with minimal offset, using a valve tool may facilitate easier fitting and seating of the outer tyre bead.
• Inflate the SecondAir™ to 12-18psi (83-124 kpa) to aid in seating the tyre beads. Note that the brass valve stem serves as the Beadlock.
• Inflate the tyre via the special valve to 12-18psi (83-124 kpa), ensuring proper seating of the tyre beads.
• Finally, inflate the tyre to the normal road pressure and thoroughly inspect for leaks.

Following these mounting instructions will ensure a secure and reliable installation of SecondAir™ Beadlocks, enhancing both safety and performance for your off-road adventures.

Recommendations

For normal on-road driving, it is recommended to maintain SecondAir™ Beadlock at 45-55 psi. For off-road use, lower the tyre to the desired pressure while ensuring SecondAir™ remains at the normal on-road pressure. It’s crucial never to lower SecondAir™ pressure below 45psi (275 kpa).
